C.D. Fulkes retires after 20 years with Round Rock ISD, including 13 years as principal of Round Rock High School. C.D. Fulkes Middle School is named in his honor.
Mr. C. D. Fulkes asked the board to release him from his contract as high school principal effective July 1, 1970. Mr. Fulkes stated that since he had been in the school system twenty years with the last thirteen as principal, and due to his approaching the age of 65, he felt that the growing demands of the job may require the vigor and services of a younger man.
On a motion and second by Sanders and Telander and unanimous vote, Mr. Fulkes’ resignation was accepted with a commendation and board appreciation for the increasingly good work that Mr. Fulkes had rendered the school.
